Cara van Wyk

Cara is an enthusiastic physiotherapist who loves working closely with children and their families to achieve their goals.

 

She has experience working with children of all ages and has a particular interest

in working with children with Cerebral Palsy, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Genetic and Metabolic conditions and other respiratory, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. 

 

Cara is passionate about inclusive sport and enjoys finding

sports pathways for all children.

She has worked as physiotherapist at the Asia-Oceania Regional CP Football Camp, and been a member of the multidisciplinary health promotions team 

at the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Games.

She continues to be actively involved in the female CP Football space,

and is a committee member of the Disabled Surfers Association (Sydney Branch). She has also recently been accepted as a member of the

Australian Physiotherapy Association Paediatric Committee.

Cara is a registered DMI (Intro Level A, B & C) practitioner. 

 

In addition to physiotherapy, Cara has completed her Masters in

International Public Health which has given her the opportunity to work on national policy initiatives in Vietnam and in partnership with the World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre for Child Health.

 

When not at work, Cara loves exploring the outside world and is a keen hiker and rock climber. She is also a volunteer Surf Lifesaver and spends many

Sundays on the beach with Nippers.
